The sport of high diving is very poorly funded and as it is not yet an Olympic sport- it does not receive as much support. It is not a cheap sport to self- fund with the extensive travel and training costs! There are also only 3 27m diving pools to train at in the entire world! So we must travel far even just to train.

I actually only starting diving right before covid-19. Since I was a kid I was obsessed with diving- I loved watching it in the Olympics and I always wanted to try it. I tried it briefly as a kid, but after my first bellyflop, I quit. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I started the sport again and pushed through that fear (and pain) of failure. My friends had taken me cliff jumping and I was jealous when they all did flips and I couldn’t! After less than a year of training- mid 2021- I decided I wanted to learn to go higher, thanks to inspiration from my first coach. I did my first high dive in September 2021! This year was the first that I competed both as a diver and a high diver, in countries such as Slovenia and Czechia.
